In human resources or industrial/organizational psychology, 360-degree feedback, also known as “multi-rater feedback“, “multi-source feedback“,or “multi-source assessment“, is feedback that comes from all around an employee. “360″ refers to the 360 degrees in a circle, with an individual figuratively in the center of the circle. Feedback is provided by subordinates, peers, and supervisors. It also includes a self-assessment and, in some cases, feedback from external sources such as customers and suppliers or other interested stakeholders. It may be contrasted with “upward feedback”, where managers are given feedback by their direct reports, or a “traditional performance appraisal,” where the employees are most often reviewed only by their managers.
I have developed a 360 Degree Feedback application that was originally intended to integrate seamlessly into an existing Moodle-based online training website. For a number of reasons, the project has evolved into an free-standing application that can work entirely independently or, with a little configuration can be easily integrated into an existing Moodle course.
Moodle integration
- Integrate seamlessly into existing Moodle courses
- Only registered users (students or trainees) have access to the activity
- Moodle registered students are the assessees, other Moodle users and non-Moodle users can be invited to respond
- Results and report generation are managed from within the Moodle interface
Stand-alone application
- Completely stand-alone 360 degree feedback tool
- Built on PHP and powered by a MySQL database
- Create any number of assessments
- Create your own question sets or choose from a library of standard sets
- Manage user accounts for assessment managers, assessees and respondents
